FS, R2DATO: a Bologna San Donato le prove per l’automazione ferroviaria su ERTMS
At the Bologna San Donato railway test ring, FS Group hosted a testing campaign focused on ERTMS-based automatic train operation technologies. The activities are part of the European FP2-R2DATO project, a key initiative under Europe’s Rail Flagship Project 2 aimed at accelerating digital transformation in the railway sector. During a demonstration day, three main project functionalities were presented: automatic driving, remote driving, and obstacle detection. The event brought together representatives from the European rail sector and EU institutions, as well as infrastructure managers, railway operators, and industry partners.
