The Conflict Identification and Resolution (CIR) developed under EU-Rail aims to improve the efficiency, robustness, and capacity of railway operations by automatically detecting and resolving traffic conflicts in real time before they impact operations.
Using a predictive approach, the solution analyses real time data to identify potential conflicts at an early stage and propose appropriate mitigation actions. The main components of the solution are:
The solution is currently available as a prototype and is ready for testing. Starting from 2027, it is planned to integrate the solution into a system demonstrator, where it will be tested and validated under real operational conditions.

The CB-RTMC is an integrated system that enhances cross-border railway operations by improving communication and coordinated planning between Infrastructure Managers (IMs). It features advanced modules for timetable planning and management, enabling direct data exchange, conflict detection and supported conflict resolution between neighbouring planning systems.
The platform enables proactive cross-border planning, optimises capacity allocation, and supports re-planning in case of unexpected events. By using standardised data exchange and integrating with external railway subsystems, CB-RTMC addresses fragmented communication and uncoordinated planning, resulting in improved punctuality, fewer delays, and optimised infrastructure use.

The project FP1-MOTIONAL aims to improve planning and operational management of rail services and offers to meet the European goal of making rail the preferred mode of transport.

The FP5-TRANS4M-R’s overall goal is to establish rail freight as the backbone of a low-emission, resilient European logistics chain which fulfils end-user requirements to full satisfaction.
