Press Release #7 – ADIF-Coordinated European Project FP3-IAM4RAIL recognised at the TRA Vision Awards 2026

The European collaborative project FP3-IAM4RAIL, coordinated by ADIF, has received international recognition at the TRA Vision Awards 2026, presented within the framework of the Transport Research Arena (TRA) Conference, one of Europe’s leading transport research and innovation events.
The award recognises the work carried out within the FP3-IAM4RAIL project in the field of railway asset management and maintenance, particularly highlighting outstanding contributions in the Young Researcher category.
This achievement reinforces ADIF’s role as project coordinator through its Strategic Partnerships Area Management, part of the Corporate Strategy Directorate, promoting European collaboration and the development of innovative solutions for the railway sector.
Recognition of young talent in railway innovation
Among the researchers recognised for their contributions to FP3-IAM4RAIL are:
- Dr. Yuanchen Zeng, from Delft University of Technology, who was selected as one of the three finalists for the TRA VISIONS Rail Award. His work within FP3-IAM4RAIL focuses on the development of new applications of laser technology for railway infrastructure monitoring. His research addresses key technical challenges related to the implementation of this technology and develops methods enabling its effective deployment in railway environments. These advances form part of the project’s deliverables and use cases.
- Wassamon Phusakulkajorn, also linked to the project, who was selected among the top ten rail candidates thanks to her research on artificial intelligence applied to data fusion for railway maintenance.
The recognition received at the TRA Vision Awards further strengthens the impact and visibility of FP3-IAM4RAIL and highlights ADIF’s leadership in promoting innovation and international collaboration in the European railway ecosystem.
The award also increases the international visibility of both the project and its partners within a benchmark European forum such as the TRA Conference, reinforcing the importance of research and innovation in advancing the future of sustainable and resilient rail transport.
