In this proof of concept (PoC), a vehicle is tested in remote control mode in a shunting yard, receiving commands transmitted through a mobile network from a remote operator several kilometres away. The aim is to study the human-machine organisational factors as well as the technology involved in remote rail operations, with a check against current standards.
