Europe’s Rail Newsletter – September Edition The September edition of the Europe’s Rail newsletter is out! 🚆 This...
The FP6 FutuRe project invites stakeholders to a dissemination workshop presenting applications of train positioning, perception and Stop-on-Demand for regional railway operations, developed and tested within FP6 FutuRe W8/Tasks 8.1 and 8.5. The workshop will feature practical examples presented by AŽD experts, highlighting testing activities, results and the potential of these technologies to support safer, more flexible and efficient regional railway services.
Regional railway lines face specific challenges in ensuring safe, reliable and cost-efficient operations. Innovative control-command and signalling (CCS) technologies can contribute to addressing these challenges by improving train localisation, enhancing environmental perception and enabling more flexible passenger services.
The workshop will cover three main topics:
The workshop will introduce the technical context and starting point of the activities, building on previous research and development work. Practical examples will illustrate the technologies in a regional railway environment, together with the experience gained and lessons learned through testing.
The event will conclude with a Q&A session, providing an opportunity for participants to exchange views on the presented applications, discuss their relevance to regional railway operations and explore opportunities for further development and deployment.
The workshop is intended for railway infrastructure managers, railway undertakings, technology providers, researchers and other stakeholders interested in innovative solutions for regional railway control-command and signalling and operations.
