Railway corridors are monitored through different inspection systems, generating complementary information on track and overhead line conditions. Integrating these data can make infrastructure monitoring more comprehensive and support more effective maintenance planning.

The solution
Europe’s Rail (EU-Rail) has advanced a solution that provides a a web-based platform for visualising different railway corridor survey data streams.
The platform enables the visualisation of the Track and Overhead Line condition data and fuses Track Geometry and Overhead line condition data within the Point Cloud.
Readiness for Industrialisation and Deployment
The solution is currently at prototype stage.
Maturity level
The solution has achieved a TRL 6. A web-based platform has been developed and validated in a relevant environment using real railway data.
Expected benefits
- Improved asset condition awareness: Integrated, corridor‑wide visualisation provides a more comprehensive view of infrastructure condition.
- Earlier fault detection: Combining Track Geometry and Overhead Line insights supports earlier identification of potential faults.
- Reduced inspection and maintenance costs: Data fusion and automation can reduce the resources required for inspection and maintenance activities.
- Data-driven predictive maintenance: The solution enables more informed and predictive approaches to railway infrastructure maintenance.
- Increased operational efficiency and safety: Integrated infrastructure data can support more efficient rail operations at network scale.
- Digital transformation: The solution supports the transition towards more digital infrastructure monitoring systems.
