Joint position paper on DAC in Europe signed by Austrian, German and Swiss Ministers for Transport
Last week the Austrian Minister Leonore Gewessler, German Minister Volker Wissing and Swiss Minister Albert Rösti have signed the joint position paper “Die DAK kommt” (engl.: The DAC is coming!) All three ministers highlight the importance of Digital Automatic Coupling Rail Freight to achieve the ambitious European climate targets. The DAC is the key enabler for digitalization and automation of rail freight, making it futureproof
Amongst other projects, FP5-TRANS4M-R is mentioned as an important project where Deutsche Bahn (DB), Österreichische Bundesbahn (ÖBB) and Schweizerische Bundesbahn (SBB) are invested together with other partners and are working towards the transformation of Europe’s Rail Freight.
