Italian Demonstration Train now equipped with DAC couplers
The FP5 TRANS4M-R Italian Demonstrator showcases the integration of Digital Automatic Coupling (DAC) and Full Digital Freight Train technologies in a real freight railway environment. By combining DAC-enabled wagons, a DAC-equipped locomotive and advanced digital train functions, the demonstrator will validate interoperability, operational performance and new digital operational procedures trough testing in both controlled and real railway environments along freight corridors crossing Italy. The demonstrator will provide evidence supporting the transformation of future rail freight operations.
