Projects worth €390 million, against €234 million funding, are expected to be funded under the Europe’s Rail 2022-1 Call for Proposals for Research & Innovation activities, within the framework of the Europe’s Rail Annual Work Programme 2022-2024. On 19 November the Council of the European Union adopted the regulation establishing Europe’s Rail Joint Undertaking and nine other European Partnerships to accelerate the green and digital transition. It entered into force today following its publication in the Official Journal of the European Union and marks the start of these partnerships. Read press release

The winning teams of the joint Shift2Rail Joint Undertaking and Siemens Mobility hackathon Hack2Rail were announced during the Final Demo Day on 29 October 2021. Today, the Supervisory Board of the European DAC Delivery Programme, on a proposal of the Programme Board, has adopted a decision on the selection of the future Europe-wide Digital Automatic Coupling (DAC) standard coupler head design for European rail freight transport.
