D3.1 Hybrid coupler for dual-use locomotive

D3.1 will describe the installed Hybrid coupler system on the Dual-use locomotive in a detailed report. In particular it will describe the installed system, main functionalities (e.g. folding up/ down, etc.) and the integration of the system into the locomotive. Pictures of the installation will be added to illustrate the report.

D5.1 Hybrid coupler for legacy locomotives

Work Package 5 involves verifying the feasibility of installing DAC hybrid automatic couplers on the most common types of locomotives used by freight rail carriers in Poland, specifically the ET22 six-axle electric locomotive and the SM42 diesel shunting locomotive. It is important to note that both models exist in various configurations, ranging from classic versions to deep modernizations that significantly alter their technical parameters and physical appearance. The primary objective is to confirm the possibility of installing a hybrid coupler on both types of locomotives and, upon positive verification, to proceed with the installation and testing of a hybrid digital automatic coupler.

Task 5.1 concerns work related to the preparation for the installation of a hybrid coupler on the SM42 locomotive. Its aim is to develop a standalone FDFT (Full Digital Freight Transport) system kit for the modernization of older locomotives. The specifications of the FDFT system set will be based on the specifications or results of the FP5-TRANS4M-R project and will include a Locomotive Control Unit (LCU), a hybrid-digital automated coupling system, an electric converter, and a Human-Machine Interface.

D6.2 Dissemination and Communication Plan

This deliverable sets out the dissemination and communication plan of the FP5-DACtiVate project. The basis of the future dissemination and communication activities are key messages that capture the spirit of the project, Key messages are essential for future dissemination and communication activities, providing guidance and ensuring a consistent public image for the project. Key points of the project’s dissemination and communication plan are highlighted, and it is shown which target groups are communicated to and through which channels. It concludes with a description of the overall process, which should ensure that all  activities are of sufficient quality, meet the requirements of the Grant Agreement (FP5-DACtiVate Consortium; Europe’s Rail Joint Undertaking, 2025) and can be planned and executed holistically.
