Women in Rail Award Ceremony 2025
Date: 1 October 2025
Location: Kraków, Poland
Although women make up more than 50% of rail passengers, they represent only around 20% of the workforce in the EU rail sector. Against this background, Europe’s Rail, together with the European Commission’s Women in Transport platform, the European Union Agency for Railways (ERA), the Community of European Railway and Infrastructure Companies (CER), the European Rail Supply Industry Association (UNIFE), the Federation of European Train Drivers’ Unions (ALE) and European Rail Infrastructure Managers (EIM) have come together to launch the Women in Rail Award 2025. This award aims to promote fairness, diversity and equality while celebrating the outstanding achievements of inspiring women in the rail industry.
As part of the European Rail Safety Days, the 2025 edition of the Women in Rail (WiR) Award will take place on 1 October 2025.
