Since one of the objectives of Europe’s Rail is to provide a platform for pooling and better coordinating research and innovation (R&I) efforts in the rail sector, all rail-related research funding under Horizon Europe will be concentrated in Europe’s Rail. However, this does not mean that other parts of the Horizon Europe work programme may not be of interest of the rail industry. In particular, the transport work programme contains a number of cross-modal topics for which the rail supply industry may still apply. Other Horizon Europe work programmes (e.g. security) have also topics focusing on transport, to which the rail industry could contribute its expertise.
