AI-based automated in-station train dispatching
On 28 April 2026, Hitachi Rail STS, with the support of the University of Genova and in cooperation with RFI, the Italian railway infrastructure manager, validated at TRL 5 an innovative AI-based automated in-station train dispatching system, known as INSTRADI, within the framework of the MOTIONAL project.
The proposed solution is designed to reduce operators’ workload by automating routine tasks, allowing them to focus on more critical activities.
