Europe’s Rail launches €6.1 million Call to advance sustainable and passenger-centred rail transport

Europe’s Rail Joint Undertaking has launched its Call for Proposals 2026-01, with a total EU contribution of €6.1 million.  The Call and its two call topics are open for submission until 7 May 2026.

The Call has a focus on forward-looking transport concepts:

• the development of light weight and cost-efficient rolling stock, and automated Multi-Modal Mobility-System with “moving infrastructures”
• the development of hyperloop through support to safety and certification guidelines, including the functional validation of safety components

Europe’s Rail Information Day

The Call for Proposals 2026-01 will be presented during the Europe’s Rail Info Day, which will take place online on 9 February 2026, from 9:30 to 12:00 (CET).

The event will feature a presentation of the upcoming Call and its two call topics, guidance on the EU legal and financial requirements applicable to the Call, and a live Q&A session with Europe’s Rail experts.

Support for Collaboration: Networking Platform Now Open

To facilitate collaboration and support proposal development, Europe’s Rail has launched a dedicated online networking platform. The platform enables stakeholders to express interest in specific topics, organise virtual meetings, identify partners and join or form consortia. The platform will be open from 4 February 2026 until the Call deadline at 17:00, on 7 May 2026.
