The event will provide an overview of the objectives of the Europe’s Rail Research and Innovation Programme and present opportunities for stakeholders to contribute to making rail a more attractive transport mode for both citizens and businesses across Europe.

Participants will receive detailed information on the Europe’s Rail Call for Proposals 2026-01, with a total EU contribution of €6.1 million, and learn how to engage in upcoming research and innovation activities.

Focus Areas of the Call:

The Call aims to accelerate the development of sustainable, attractive and passenger-centred solutions, with a strong focus on regional and suburban transport systems through innovation, digitalisation, and forward-looking transport concepts.
Research and innovation activities will focus on the development of light weight and cost-efficient rolling stock, as well as on the development of an automated Multi-Modal Mobility-System with “moving infrastructures”. In addition, the Call addresses the need for support to safety and certification guidelines and the functional validation of safety components for hyperloop.
