The S5LECT – SatCom and 5G Link, Edge and Cybersecurity – Project will held its Mid-Term Event, marking a key milestone in the project’s journey toward enhanced digitalisation in the railway and automotive sectors.
The S5LECT Project focuses on strengthening railway signalling, automation and traffic management through the integration of satellite communication, 5G, edge computing and cybersecurity technologies.

Europe’s Rail invites you to join us for the roundtable discussion titled “What role for satellite communication for train operation and protection?”, taking place on 22 October from 14:30 to 15:30 (CET).
This session will feature Senior Programme Manager Lea Paties, representing Europe’s Rail Joint Undertaking, alongside other key experts across the European rail community.
The panel will explore the strategic relevance and future potential of satellite communications in enhancing safety, reliability and efficiency in rail operations.

A guided visit to the CEIT Laboratory will also be organised as part of the programme.
