Europe’s Rail Joint Undertaking is pleased to invite you to participate in Rail Live! 2025, taking place from 26 to 28 November at IFEMA Madrid, Spain.

Rail Live! is Spain’s leading international exhibition and conference focused on the railway sector. The event brings together key stakeholders, including railway undertakings, infrastructure managers, rolling stock manufacturers, suppliers, researchers and policymakers committed to advancing sustainable and innovative rail transport for both passengers and freight.

Europe’s Rail will contribute to the conference programme with two high-level interventions. On 26 November at 16:40, Javier Ibáñez De Yrigoyen, EU-Rail Senior Programme Manager, will speak in the session titled “Where can AI be implemented across the rail industry to drive value for customers, reduce costs, and optimise operational efficiency?”.
The discussion will explore the transformative potential of artificial intelligence in areas such as customer experience (from journey planning to personalised service), predictive maintenance and automation to reduce costs and disruptions, as well as network optimisation through smarter traffic management and scheduling.

On the following day, 27 November at 16:30, we invite you to join the panel discussion “Navigating the Transition: Challenges and Next Steps in Migrating from GSM-R to FRMCS”, where Karel van Gils, EU-Rail Programme Manager, will take part in a dialogue on the technical and operational challenges of the transition to FRMCS. The session will consider how the sector can ensure a smooth and timely migration while maintaining interoperability, cybersecurity and compliance with regulatory frameworks. It will also focus on the importance of cross-industry collaboration to accelerate FRMCS deployment ahead of the expected deadlines.
