FP6 – FUTURE

List of Technical Enablers

To achieve the operational outcomes targeted in this Flagship Area, several technical capabilities were identified by FP6. To develop flagship demonstrations, some functions must be delivered with enough maturity, with a target TRL indicated for each enabler.

FP6 TE 1 CCS develop an application for a cost-efficient performant control command and signalling system including:

ATO over ETCS adapted to regional operations hybrid train detection and moving block
Cost-effective fail-safe highly accurate train positioning
Cost-effective fail safe on board train integrity and train length detection
FP6 TE 2 CCS Develop a Operations Control Centre (OCC) covering interlocking, radio blocking and traffic management for regional lines not connected with mainline
FP6 TE 3 Asset Develop infrastructure components and wayside elements which are energy self-sufficient and/or wireless enabled as well as Smart Wayside Object Controller (SWOC)
FP6 TE 4 Rolling Stock Concept of modular light-weight vehicle and/or with alternative propulsion system
FP6 TE 5 Rolling Stock Develop a concept for alternative fuelling/charging stations
FP6 TE 6 Customer service Develop cost-efficient integration of on-board information of multimodal services
FP6 TE 7 Customer service develop passenger congestion rate monitoring, flow optimization application as well as a low-cost passenger information system
