International Railway Safety Conference (IRSC) 2024

ÖBB will be hosting the world’s largest conference on railway safety (IRSC) in Vienna this year. Participants will include railway operators, infrastructure managers, safety authorities, manufacturing industry, academia, policy makers from all over the world, making this event a unique chance to discuss significant challenges, promising new technologies, innovations and different cultures in rail safety including the objective to learn from other sectors wherever possible.

Our Executive Director, Giorgio Travaini, will moderate a session on “Safety on Track: Next Generation Command Control & Signalling” on Wednesday 18 September as well as speak on Thursday 19 September in a session on  “Rail Freight: How does liberalization affect safety (Chances, risks, challenges).”
